The Cliff at 22

When your child turns 22, school district support ends. Families face a fragmented system of regional centers, vendors, funding options, and employment services. Without a guide, the transition becomes a crisis.

Otto is that guide. Built by Russell Wilson—a DSP supervisor with 15 years in the field, currently pursuing his RBT certification and psychology degree. Someone who lives in this system every day.

His lived experience, clinical training, and mentorship from former regional center coordinators shaped Otto into the resource families actually need.

Russell's Story

Russell Wilson manages vocational services for adults with developmental disabilities at Solano Diversified Services. With 15 years of horticulture expertise, RBT training, and a psychology degree in progress, he's built Otto from lived experience—not theory.

Mentored by former regional center coordinators and informed by his clinical training, Russell created Otto to help families navigate the transition that caught him off-guard: the "Cliff at 22."

The Fragmented Landscape

The Information Gap

Families navigate fragmented vendor lists, separate regional center systems, and scattered resources. No single source of truth about what's available in the Bay Area.

Employment Crisis

54% of services are residential care. Only 9% are employment services—the highest-value intervention for independence. The gap is massive.

Financial Exploitation

Scams, romance fraud, and financial predation are top concerns. Families need tools to protect their loved ones in the digital age.

Provider Isolation

Service providers work in silos. They don't know about each other, can't collaborate, and miss opportunities to serve families better.

Otto: Personalized Software for Your Journey

Otto is available on Wabi, the "YouTube of apps"—a personal software platform where anyone can create, customize, and share mini-apps. This means Otto isn't one-size-fits-all. It's personalized to your situation, your county, your needs.

Use Otto as-is, or remix it to match your family's specific journey. That's the power of personalized software.

The Future: Personalized Software

Otto on Wabi represents a new era of accessible, customizable technology. Instead of a one-size-fits-all app, Otto is a foundation you can personalize. Need a version for your specific county? Remix it. Want to add your own resources? Customize it. Want to share your version with other families? Publish it.

Why This Matters for Families

One tool that adapts to your life, not the other way around. Otto on Wabi means you get the features you need, customized for your situation, without the bloat of features you don't.

Why This Matters for Providers

Otto becomes a tool for collaboration, not competition. Providers can remix Otto for their own use, add their services, and build on what Russell created. It's open-source software for the disability services ecosystem.

The Data Behind Otto

Otto's research reveals the true gaps in the Bay Area's disability services ecosystem. This isn't theory—it's based on analysis of 575 organizations, 1,200+ community posts, and regional center data.

The Employment Gap

6.3:1

For every employment provider, there are 6.3 residential care providers. This gap represents the biggest opportunity to increase independence.

Five-Year Impact

+225%

By closing the employment gap, we can increase competitive integrated employment by 225% and reduce parent stress by 38%.

Safety Shield: Scam Detection
